O
K, so we turned back our clocks on Sunday morning.
The weather is warming up and we have even seen some rain falling, instead of snow – I think it is official that spring is in the air.
And with the coming of spring comes St. Patrick’s Day this Thursday (17th) which can be enjoyed with stew, biscuits and fine entertainment all for the sum of $10. Do not miss out on this event.
Another marker that winter is on its way out the door is the Febreze Spring Fling in the Hall March 21.
Now this is going to be a very classy event that you do not want to miss.
You can get the real feeling of spring as soon as you enter the doors and are transported into the world of springtime gardening.
Who couldn’t use a bit of that this time of the year? And, best of all, it is free.
Come in, enjoy the sights and scents of green turf and flowers in bloom.
Walk around and get some ideas for your own gardens. And if you are interested, talk to Honey about how you can purchase any of those beautiful hanging baskets.
Or if you are doing some landscaping, maybe you want to purchase the green turf. It is all for sale once the event is over and you may want to get in on this before it is all spoken for.
I wish I could transport the whole room into my backyard – now that would be something to see.
Did you know that Branch 94 had its own website and Facebook page?
If you are computer savvy you may want to check out all that is happening on your computer, at your leisure, just enter RCL Branch 94 into your search engine and you are on your way to even more information on the daily happenings at your local Legion.
Speaking of being at the front of the line in terms of getting information.
The Legion Lifestyles Show Off, formerly known as the Trades Fair, is still accepting applications for booths.
In true Cariboo style, there has been an incredible amount of phone calls, e-mails and inquiries and a ton of interest shown, but very few spots sold.
Your executive finance committee have been extra busy drafting up grant proposals.
I’m receiving e-mails on Saturday, as they were slaving away over this paperwork. Now that is a dedicated trio consisting of Denis, Roger and Honey.
I reminded them that this was Saturday and they were their own slave drivers, but is sure gives you pause to know that these very capable people are looking out for your beloved Legion.
We are definitely in good hands. If you see any of these people, maybe take a minute and say thank you.
If those grants are approved we will all benefit from their hard work. Go team go.
So drop by the Legion on a Monday morning and enjoy exercise class; or drop in at lunch time from Tuesday to Friday and enjoy their menu and salad bar. Drop in Friday and Saturday for the meat draw.
Sunday you can take some time to visit the flea market and the wonderful LA ladies running it.
Enjoy all the special events such as St. Paddy’s Day, and the Febreze event.
There is something to do every day, all day – if you are not already a member you can still drop in and see what you are missing. You will see that it is wonderful to be a part of this great establishment.
