1. 2015-2016 Senior Management Team Workplan: The Board of Education approved the workplan.
2. 2015/2016 Capital Plan Submission: The board amended the recommended Capital Plan to place Rutland Middle School replacement as the No. 2 priority in the Central Okanagan School District. The New Okanagan Mission Junior Middle School remained No.1 priority as the project definition report has been completed and submitted to the Ministry of Education. The Board of Education approved the 2015/2016 Capital Plan as amended.

Assistant Superintendent’s Emergent Issues
• On Wednesday, Oct. 21, over 600 students and staff from the Central Okanagan School District attended WE Day in Vancouver.
• The School District is projecting an increase of approximately 320 students over last year’s enrolment.
• The Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) 2016 will be administered Jan. 11 through Feb. 19, 2016. All Grade 4 and Grade 7 students write FSA in reading, writing and numeracy.
• The delivery of Action Schools! BC is temporarily on hold for the start of the 2015/2016 school year while the Ministry refreshes the model of delivery as part of a broader review. Classroom based activities will continue to be carried out, however, workshops and new equipment will not be available until a new model of delivery is established.
• Larry Paul, secretary-treasurer, congratulated Mar Jok Elementary School for receiving a Green Award from the 2015 Thompson-Okanagan-Kootenay Commercial Building Awards.
