In a continuing effort to strengthen the Okanagan Film Industry, the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna and the Okanagan Film Commission have formed an educational partnership.
According to the two groups, the partnership will help ensure people passionate about animation and film have a quality training institution in their community.
The first step in this partnership will begin with Okanagan Film Fundamentals (OFF) that will be held Oct. 22 to 25 at the Cove Lakeside Resort in West Kelowna.
OFF is an opportunity to bring all viewpoints of the film industry together to celebrate, learn and collaborate.
The weekend will have 2 elements, the first being the Motion Picture Industry Orientation course, which will be held twice throughout the weekend. It will teach all the foundations needed to work safely on a film set.
The second aspect of the weekend will be a symposium that will include sessions on script writing, entertainment law, budgeting, and pitching.
For more information on the symposium, visit okanaganfilmfundamentals.com.
Located in Kelowna’s Landmark technology campus, the Centre for Arts and Technology is a post-secondary institution offering programs in filmmaking, animation, audio engineering, fashion design, event management, interior design, photography, graphic design, and network security.
