The new Chief Executive Officer of the Aboriginal Tourism Association of British Columbia (AtBC) will be a guest speaker at the North Island Tourism Forum being hosted by the Regional District of Mount Waddington.AtBC is a non-profit, stakeholder-based organization that is committed to growing and promoting a sustainable, culturally-rich Aboriginal tourism industry. At their regular meeting Dec. 15, Manager of Economic Development Pat English told the board that an agenda is being developed for the forum.English said he is also working to expand the North Island Protocol Agreement to include a co-operative approach with First Nations on the development of the tourism sector.The Protocol was established in March of 2010 as a framework for communities to work together to address specific issues of mutual interest or concern.
