CF-18’s from 409 Tactical Fighter Squadron from 4 Wing Cold Lake will be operating out of CFB Comox from July 16 to 20.
They will be conducting upgrade training required for pilots in the airspace over the water off the west coast of Vancouver Island.
In addition to the CF-18s, a CC-130H Hercules from 19 Wing’s 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron (Winnipeg) will be providing airborne refueling to the CF-18s for mutual training requirements.
The training missions will be air-to-air employments comprising of up to three aircraft. CFB Comox allows pilots to operate out of an unfamiliar airfield to achieve training goals while also providing valuable training to the members of 19 Wing.
