Mission’s most outspoken advocate for the business community is shifting her focus to the medical field.

Michelle Favero is resigning from her position as the executive director of the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce, and taking a position with the Abbotsford Division of Family Practice.

She will serve as the new executive director with the organization.

Favero’s last day with the chamber will be Oct. 3.

She told The Record the five years she spent serving the Mission business community has been a “wonderful experience.”

“The chamber has given me the opportunity to grow my skills,” said Favero, who will continue to live in Mission and be involved. “The business community in Mission is resilient and I encourage people to continue to support it by shopping local.”

In an e-mail to members, Mission chamber president Ann Harper said Favero has been a “pivotal part of the growth of the Mission Chamber” and will be missed.

The chamber will continue building on the foundation Favero has created in this community and focus on serving its members.
