A preliminary inquiry was held in provincial court earlier this year, and on March 1 a judge ordered him to stand trial in B.C. Supreme Court. A pre-trial conference for that trial is scheduled to begin Dec. 4.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

His first court appearance was Sept. 23, 2016 soon after the then 62-year-old was elected as president of the Rotary Club of Chilliwack.

Chilliwack Crown counsel lawyer Paul Blessin is a director of that local Rotary Club. As a result of that possible conflict of interest the case will be overseen by Abbotsford Crown counsel Sylvia Domaradski.

Meissner is also a past president of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board and has been a local realtor since 1992. He was awarded the realtor of distinction in 2008.

Meissner is also a photographer and is a past director of the Chilliwack Community Arts Council.

He and his photos were featured in a 2012 newspaper story about his photographic tour inside the Paramount Theatre before it was demolished.
