Clearwater’s Children’s Art Festival is taking place at the Dutch Lake Community Centre on Aug. 8 and will feature a guest artist and family friendly live entertainment.

The event, which is going into its seventh year, has local artists who conduct hands-on workshops for children of all ages with 10 art and music stations, all happening from 10 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The guest artist at the festival will be Joan Smith with musical entertainment courtesy of the RupLoops who take the stage from 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Other activities for children include face painting and henna tattoos, macrame jewelry, calligraphy and a lemonade and snack stand hosted by the local Girl Guides.

The free event, sponsored by the North Thompson Arts Council, will also have drumming and dramatic performances and take-home crafts.
