Shandhar Hut re-opened to customers in Chilliwack this week with a revamped safety plan in place.
The popular Chilliwack restaurant closed Nov. 19 as a precautionary move, after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, said manager Gord Atti.
He reiterated they were not in any way forced to close.
“We did it out of a sense of responsibility to follow Fraser Health and WorkSafe guidelines.”
They have since instituted one-way traffic flow through the restaurant as part of their updated safety protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
Customers will now enter only through the front door on Young Road and exit into the alleyway.
“That way we can keep track of the flow in the waiting room,” Atti said.
They sent out a big thank-you for the “overwhelming show of support” since they’ve been preparing to reopen to pickup, delivery and in-house dining with updated protocols.
“We are so grateful to everyone for their kindness.”
