Chilliwack residents paused to remember Saturday at one of three Remembrance Day ceremonies in town.
Crowds lined the streets at the recently refurbished downtown cenotaph. A large gathering was also at the All Sappers memorial park at Vedder Crossing.
The third service was held at the Coqualeetza Longhouse.
Security was tight at the events. At the Vedder Crossing service city gravel trucks were used to block all road access to the cenotaph. RCMP members armed with assault rifles also patrolled the streets.
