Evelyn Novak has been signed on for another five-year term as the superintendent of Chilliwack’s school district.
The decision was made at the school board’s meeting last Tuesday.
“The Board recognizes and appreciates that her strong collaborative leadership style will assist the District in achieving the strategic directions the Board has laid out in its Strategic Plan” said Silvia Dyck, board chair.
In a statement, the board added that Novak’s “focus on leadership development, early intervention and prevention Kindergarten to grade 12, and high quality instruction and assessment practices will help to continue the trend of improved student achievement for School District 33.”
Novak said she is honoured to continue serving in her role as superintendent.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to continue to serve as Superintendent of the Chilliwack School District,” said Novak. “The strength of this district is its people. We have an amazing staff that are dedicated, innovative and committed to providing the best learning opportunities for students, along with a supportive community that goes above and beyond to partner with and support students.”
Novak has a bachelor of education, a post graduate diploma in educational administration and a masters of education, along with an extensive background in teaching, school-based administration and district-level leadership. Prior to coming to Chilliwack in 2012, Novak was the CEO of the Prairie Spirit School Division in Saskatoon.
