Chilliwack’s first ever drive-in flu shot clinic starts today

Roll up your sleeve, drive inside the barn at Heritage Park, and park for a few minutes to get shot

The first ever drive-in flu clinic in Chilliwack is underway at Chilliwack Heritage Park.

“Roll up your sleeve, drive inside, park for a few minutes for your shot, and proceed to the parking lot for 15 minutes for an observation period,” said Katrina Bepple, executive director of Chilliwack Division of Family Practice.

It’s the first time they have ever offered mass flu shot clinics “drive-in” style, and the Division is hosting them in partnership with Fraser Health and City of Chilliwack.

The clinics will be inside the red barn at Chilliwack Heritage Park on four dates: Nov. 3, 4, 9 and 10.

Pre-registration is required for each person in the vehicle to pre-book an appointment time. The website with consent forms will only go live on the evening of Oct. 30: https://chilliwackflushot.myhealthinfo.ca

Everyone is asked to print out the consent form that comes with each confirmation email, completed for each person getting the shot, and to bring it with them. If printing out the form is not possible, there will be forms on-site at Heritage Park, but it will slow the clinic experience.

“Wear a mask to keep our teams safe, and short sleeves for quick access for your flu shot.”

The clinics are open to all ages at 44140 Luckakuck Way. Other clinics can be found at ImmunizeBC.ca

Organizers say volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food items to support the The Salvation Army Chilliwack Community Food Bank.
