100 Mile House Fire-Rescue members knelt on a ladder for better support on an unstable mobile home roof when they doused a May 1 chimney fire on Alder Avenue. Fire chief Darrell Blades notes a build-up of creosote was present at a bend in the chimney pipe, and he adds chimneys still need cleaning in spring, when slower-burning logs can create more buildup.
