This past weekend was unbelievable in the amount of community volunteers giving their time to help with all the amazing events over the weekend.

It started with our 10th annual “Breakfast with Santa.” Friday night was used to set up at the Blackpool Hall for 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Our dedicated volunteers (it starts months ahead of time), yes I am going to name all of them because they are always there to help, should be recognized for all they do:

Cheryl Thomas, Vivian Allen, Susanne Butcher, Wendy Vogels, Brenda Griffiths, Lisa Nadeau, Baylee Sallenbach, Chyan Kennedy, Georgina Leppky, the awesome Clearwater Fire department member Wayne Wysoski, Blackpool Fire department members Mike Savage, Mike, and Mark.

Joe Short, Steve Coburn, Jed Fast, Dennis Peacock, Denica Kelly, Clearwater Literacy, Blackpool Hall committee, Carol Schaffer of the Thomson-Nicola Regional District, Clearwater Legion #259, the Clearwater Rotary Club, Aboriginal Centre, Rose Kristiansen to lead our young drummers and signers, and the community for its support.

We were able to donate five big bags of food items to the food bank plus more than $200. in cash.

And of course Santa and Mrs. Clause for coming all the way from the North Pole to be here with us every year.

This brings me to mention all the awesome volunteers that put on an incredible event Saturday night. All the music, baked goods, volunteers and community support. Next off was the annual Rotary Light Up at the Information Centre on Sunday, again, thanks to all the volunteers to make a magical evening for all of us to enjoy.
