City of Abbotsford now offers app to check garbage collections

The City of Abbotsford released a free app for Android and Apple phones that lets people check when garbage, compost and recyclables are being collected in their neighbourhood for the week.

The app works by inputting a house address, and then the pickup schedule for that address appears. Users can set up push notifications on their devices as reminders to put their cans out.

If there’s any confusion on how to dispose of an item, the app even provides a “Waste Wizard” function, where people can type in the item they need to get rid of, and the app says where to put it.

The app can be found on the Google Play Store or Apple App store by searching “Abbotsford Curbside Collection.”
