Caution, sign thief.
The City of Mission wants whoever is stealing traffic signage off the Keystone Bridge construction site to stop, and yield.
The signs have been continuously stolen, according to a Sept. 2 social media post from the city.
On Aug. 31, just before midnight, a road closure sign, beacon and timer, valued at about $1,000, were stolen.
The Mission RCMP have been contacted, and provided surveillance footage by the contractor. Police say the thefts are an ongoing concern.
“We are kindly asking that residents be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police. Signage is a key component of the traffic management plan that is in place for the safety of motorists and cyclists,” the city said.
The bridge, along with Keystone Avenue traffic from Jacobsen Street to Wallace Street, is shut down until construction can be completed in October.
