City of Mission survey asks for community input on new bike park and pumptrack

Survey takes less than 5 minutes and closes Sept. 8

The City of Mission is asking its citizens for input on the new bike skills and hard-surface pumptrack.

A survey asks residents about their thoughts on the location and features they’d like to be considered for the new park, which takes less than five minutes to complete and is open until Sept .8.

“This is an important investment for the community,” said Mayor Paul Horn. “Pump tracks are growing in popularity because they are a great way to get exercise, enjoy the outdoors, and build connections with neighbours.”

Results of the survey will be presented to the community with three potential locations, followed by an in-person public engagement at each location.

A selection will be made shortly afterwards, and a concept plan will then be shared for further feedback.

The park will be designed by the Canadian Ramp Company, with input from the Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association and the Mission Community Cycling Coalition on the design and construction.

Council approved funding the project in October, 2020, drawing $300,000 from the developer-funded Community Amenity Contribution reserves. Visit engage.mission.ca/mission-pumptrack-and-bike-park to take the survey.
