Parks and trails are open again in Williams Lake, following the rescinding of the wildfire evacuation alert a week ago.
By noon Tuesday Aug. 22, the public will be allowed to use all parks and trails within city limits, with the exception of the River Valley, however, use of motorcycles or ATVs is still prohibited.
Cooler temperatures and rain in recent days can be credited for the restriction being lifted, the city’s executive assistant Kim Dressler said in a press release, but reminded the public that all smoking in the re-opened parks is prohibited.
The public is also asked to continue obeying any safety signage on park properties.
