As a builder, do you know the spatial separation regulations?
No, well then you’ll want to attend the City of Campbell River’s next free lunch ‘n’ learn session for local builders and developers on Aug. 5. At that time, you can learn the requirements related to construction setbacks and fire department response times under the BC Building Code.
The session will provide an overview of spatial separation regulations to be aware of and will help builders and developers determine whether or not they need to modify building plans. The session will also provide suggestions for how to ensure distances between buildings on neighbouring properties meet the BC Building Code requirements.
“The implementation of this section of the BC Building Code is something that applies to every community; however this educational session will focus on details specific to Campbell River, and will be of particular interest to builders and developers with an interest in properties south of Willow Creek, which flows parallel to Erickson Rd.,” says Sara Brodie the city’s development engineering and building supervisor.
Seating is limited. Local industry professionals are reminded to bring their own brown bag lunch, and to reserve a spot by calling the city at 250-286-5725 or emailing building@campbellriver.ca.
This session is scheduled for noon, Wednesday, Aug. 5 in the Enterprise Centre boardroom at 900 Alder Street, beside City Hall.
