Given the potential health concerns regarding COVID-19, local groups and facilities are taking certain precautions to keep the public safe.
We’ve put together an updated list to keep local citizens informed.

As a means to keep staff and customers safe, Rona has put in place the following safeguards:
Only one customer at a time is allowed into the loading yard. Cough guards are installed at the till and service desks and social distancing lines are clearly marked.
Orders can be made via telephone with a credit card and the goods can be loaded into one’s car by yard staff.
Store hours also changed to Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It’s also asked that customers only touch what they are going to purchase.

Thompson-Nicola Regional District
The TNRD is following the lead of the provincial health officer by asking people to only go to Eco-Depots and transfer stations if absolutely necessary. Minimizing the total number of customers through the gates will better protect staff and customers, and ensure that essential services are maintained.
Disposal of bagged garbage and household recycling is an essential service. For other items, it’s requesting people hold off until normal operations resume.
For those residents of Blue River and Avola – curbside collection will continue following the normal schedule. For other curbside collection programs please contact your municipality. Residents with curbside collection are also being reminded to bag and tie garbage to avoid litter.
Wells Gray Taxi
Wells Gray Taxi is also making changes to keep everyone safe. The changes will be effective until further notice.
That taxi service will open at 11 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Passengers are asked to sit in the back seats only with a maximum of two persons per trip.
A barrier has been installed between the front and back seats to protect drivers and customers.
Those who are sick, have flu or flu-like symptoms, travelled out of the country recently, or are under 14 day quarantine period are asked not to use the taxi service.
Call 250-674-1542 and Wells Gray Taxi will deliver most items like grocery, restaurant food, medicine, gas, hardware store items, etc., as long as they’re preordered, packed and ready to pick up.
