Fundraising for Fireworks

Integris Credit Union in Clinton has started raising funds for Halloween fireworks. There were no Village-sanctioned fireworks in Clinton last year, and many residents missed them. The staff at Integris decided to see if there is enough interest to bring the fireworks back, and have already held a barbecue to kick things off.

If anyone would like to donate towards a Halloween fireworks display they can do so at the Credit Union in Clinton.

Museum Grant In Aid

The Village of Clinton approved a $5,000 Grant-in-Aid for the South Cariboo Historical Museum Society so they can hire staff to keep the Museum doors open more hours during the busy tourist season. Cllr. Diana Guerin presented the cheque to Society President Andy May in early April.

Seedy Sunday

The Clinton Communities in Bloom Committee is hosting a Seedy Sunday on Sunday, April 17 from 10:00am to 3:00pm in the Clinton Memorial Hall. There will be seed and plant vendors, a seed exchange, Bee Wise info, Water Wise info, various garden-related displays and demos, and much more.

Clinton Home Building Centre will have a display of garden items that are available at the Building Centre. A Children’s Activity Area will be set up with garden-related crafts for the kids to do while the adults shop and take in the displays.

Mojave Kaplan will have her seed winnower on site to demonstrate seed cleaning. If anyone has bulk seeds (peas, beans, etc.) that they would like to have cleaned, they are encouraged to bring them along.

If you have seeds to share, please have them labeled with the name of the plant, whether it is annual, biennial, etc., growing information, and the year the seed was collected.

There will be a concession set up so attendees can shop and lunch in the same location. Admission is by donation. Come and get a start on your garden!

Clinton Annual Ball
