More than 200 participated in Abbotsford’s first ever “Coldest Night of the Year” Walk. Sponsored by Cyrus Centre, this was one of only twenty similar walks held in Canada. Abbotsford was the fourth largest of those walks in BC.
Cyrus Centre for at-risk youth was one of the 20 locations across Canada. The walk left from Sevenoaks Alliance Church in Abbotsford with participants choosing from three routes – 2,5 or 10 km. The total amount raised from the event is not yet known but the goal was $25,000.
Cyrus Centre provides meals, shelter, clothing, showers, laundry, life skills, employment coaching and more for youth in need.
