The possibility of a cougar-human conflict in a Coldstream neighbourhood has been addressed.
Conservation officers trapped a three-year-old female cougar near Kinloch Drive Thursday night after repeated sightings of the animal since Christmas.
While the cougar had been feeding on other wildlife (racoons), there was a concern about possible contact with residents or domestic pets.
“When there is the potential for conflict, officers react appropriately,” said Sgt. Josh Lockwood, with the Conservation Officer Service.
The cougar was destroyed.
