A Vernon teenager suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car while riding his bike in Coldstream.
The incident happened shortly after noon on Kalamalka Road at Guildford Court.
“The driver of the vehicle was following the cyclist when it appears the cyclist veered in front of the car, a 2005 Honda Civic,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
“The driver did not have time to react.”
The 15-year-old boy was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital for observation.
There was no damage to the vehicle and the driver from Vernon was not injured.
Two other motor vehicle accidents kept police busy.
Near Monte Lake Wednesday, a 57-year-old Prince George man was taken to Kamloops’ Royal Inland Hospital in critical condition after his northbound pick-up left Highway 97 and went off the road right.
The accident was reported at around 12:30 p.m.
Police have not been able to determine why the vehicle left the road.
And Thursday morning, two men were detained by police following a report of a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 97A near the Tolko mill in Spallumcheen.
Witnesses told police that a blue Ford pick-up travelling toward Vernon had been involved in an accident shortly before 9 a.m. and did not stop.
Police officers heading to the scene and found the suspect vehicle and stopped it with two men inside.
The truck had damage to a side passenger wheel. It’s alleged the truck struck at least one and possibly two vehicles.
The police continue to investigate the incident.
