There are still few details but the Williams Lake RCMP are reporting that one person has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following an accident early this afternoon near Fox Mountain Road on Highway 97 North.
It appears a number of vehicles were involved, but details are not known at this time.
Due to the heavy snowfall, the RCMP have responded to a number of minor accidents over the past 24 hours including one Friday morning near 140 Mile where a lumber truck went off the road. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Road conditions at the time are suspected to be the reason. RCMP encourage commercial vehicle and semi trucks to carry and use chains. They also urge drivers to be cautious of the trucks when they are stopped in the roadway to chain up.
The RCMP note that road conditions continue to be poor and ask drivers to use caution, drive with lights on, be considerate of traffic and carry chains or have appropriate winter tires.
