The Columbia and Western Trail has reopened to the public at the Castlegar terminus, according to a post on the trail’s Facebook page.
The closure occurred March 25 after a large rockslide occurred near a pump house on the trail’s east end.

Sutco and B.C. Eco Chips donated an excavator and lowbed to help remove giant boulders along the trail from the rockslide.
Despite the reopening, you’re asked not to use the trail in large groups or if you’re sick to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
You are also being asked not to carpool to the trail and to avoid using toilet or tables along the trail to help combat COVID-19.
