In an effort to meet the changing needs of a growing city within the existing budget, the City of Colwood is redistributing staffing roles.

Two top staffers will be taking on new roles to help align with objectives outlined in the city’s new official community plan.

Brent Molnar, now director of development services, will lead a team dedicated to helping guide developers. According to a statement from the city, this team’s work will be based on the OCP, which encourages growth in areas such as Colwood Corners and Royal Bay, while taking care in sensitive natural areas on hillsides and shorelines.

Ian Bourhill, as director of long range planning and sustainability, will focus on community and land use planning and policy development that addresses environmental, economic, social and cultural aspects of Colwood.

Colwood adopted its new OCP in August.
