G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital’s south end is now housing Community Health Services – formerly located in Eileen Ramsey Building; Mental Health Services – formerly on Elliott Street; and Home and Community Care, which was always located in the hospital.
As part of the transition, primary care nurses are engaged in cross-training in all Community Health Services functions, says community services manager Wendy Corbett.
Redirecting the public to the appropriate service in the new configuration at the hospital is ongoing, and health service administrator Debbie Strang appreciates the public’s co-operation.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as the programs continue to develop and encourage questions and comments, and invite the public to contact the hospital administration at 250-985-5617.
“We are also addressing the parking issue.”
Once everything is in place, both Strang and Corbett say they are confident the public will be better served with all the Community Health Services on the ground floor of G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital.
