The Town of Comox has been made aware that individuals have been going door-to-door in our community posing as Town staff.

These individuals have been attempting to gain access to homes under the premise that they need to investigate some water-related issues with regard to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Town staff will not ask to gain access to a resident’s private home.

Please be advised that when it is necessary for Town staff to knock on a resident’s door, our staff member will always have a Town vehicle with them clearly marked as such. This does not happen frequently and is only ever for the purpose of making that resident aware of a project in their area.

Please do not hesitate to call the Town’s Public Works department in order to verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent the Town of Comox. Please call 250-339-5410.
