The Town of Comox has released an Urban Agriculture and Hen Keeping Feasibility Survey to garner feedback from Comox residents and property owners on permitting small-scale agriculture and hen keeping on single-family residential properties in the Town.

The survey explores three main components: the raising of hens for egg production, the sale of agricultural products produced on-site through a farm stand, and permitting greenhouses on front yards. Beekeeping is already permitted via Bylaw 1988.

Town Council is seeking this public input to gauge levels of support, identify issues, and receive any concerns regarding the potential of allowing urban agriculture uses on Comox properties with a single-family dwelling.

The survey will remain open until June 7, 2021, 4 p.m.
