From Jan. 30 to Feb. 5, the Comox Valley RCMP responded to 11 calls for theft from vehicles. Items taken from these vehicles included, cash, batteries, bottles of water, glasses, a flashlight, clothing, briefcases, personal documents, sunglasses and licence plates. To avoid being a victim, ensure your vehicle is locked when parked, and do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.
Construction equipment stolen
On Jan. 31, the Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a break, enter and theft that had occurred new Comox Avenue and Anderton Road, in Comox. A trailer, parked overnight, had been broken into several construction tools were stolen. Several nail guns and batteries were among the items stolen. (2018-1451)
Failed break-in
An attempted break and enter was reported on Feb. 1. During the early morning hours, an unknown person(s) unsuccessfully attempted to enter a business located on the 300 block of 11th Street, in Courtenay. The door sustained damages, but the business was not entered. (2018-1495)
Stolen Saturn
The theft of a vehicle, that had been parked on the 300 block of Lerwick Road, in Courtenay, was reported on Feb. 1. The stolen vehicle is described as a green 2006 our-door Saturn Vue, with B.C. plate EX251K. Batteries stolen
The theft of two commercial truck batteries was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on Feb. 2. The batteries had been removed from a truck that had been parked on the 1700 block of 13 Street, in Courtenay. (2018-1548)
Tires slashed
On Feb. 3, a mischief to a vehicle was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP. Sometime overnight, an unknown person had slashed the four tires of a vehicle parked on the 1500 block of Piercy Avenue in Courtenay. (2018-1589)
Kicking fences
A mischief to property was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on Feb. 5. Sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) kicked over a fence panel located on the 1700 block of Willemar Avenue, in Courtenay. (2018-1673)
Grafitti in Comox
The Comox Valley RCMP received a report of mischief to a building located on the 1400 block of Noel Avenue in Comox. Over the weekend, unknown person(s) spray-painted doors and walls of the building, causing damage. (2018-1677)
