Ladysmith Resource Centre Association’s, (LRCA) Concerts in the Park series will return this summer.
Concerts will take place at Transfer Beach every Sunday until August 25. The first concert will feature Nice Verdes and Terrazetto on July 7. The Soul Shakers come to Transfer Beach July 14, Cheryl Bear July 21, Glen Foster Group July 28, Bluegrass Fever August 11, Doctors of Rock and Roll August 18, and The Deaf Aids on August 25.
The series is funded by event sponsors. Sponsorships cover the cost of the bands, and pay for the audio equipment. LRCA gets a Canada Summer Jobs grant every year to give a student the opportunity to be a sound engineer for the concerts.
The series is free to attend, however donations are welcome. All funds raised from Concerts in the Park go toward funding LRCA programs.
