The provincial race heats up as the BC Conservative Party announces they have a candidate running in the Columbia River-Revelstoke riding.
Earl Olsen, a semi-retired certified general accountant and resident of Fairmont Hot Springs, will be running against incumbent Norm Macdonald (running for the BC NDP) and Doug Clovechok (running for the BC Liberals).
Olsen’s working career focused on private and public sector management responsibilities, as well as small business ownership. Prior to retirement, Olsen was a partner in a firm that owned large printing plants in Edmonton and Calgary.
He is actively involved in Columbia Valley community activities, and serves as a volunteer fireman/first responder. He also loves the outdoors and is enthusiastic about kayaking, touring on his trike and working with wood.
The 2013 Provincial Election is scheduled for May 14.
