Cops arrest Nanaimo man after rocks tossed through Parksville post office windows

Oceanside RCMP found man, 22, lying in front of building

A 22-year-old Nanaimo man was arrested Thursday night after police, responding to reports of rock throwing, found him lying by the front doors of the Parksville post office.

Oceanside RCMP reported that at approximately 10:45 p.m. on April 11, they received reports of a suspicious male tossing rocks at the post office. Signficant damage was caused, with rocks tossed through four windows.

Police said they were wondering why such “senseless” damage was caused, and reported queries of the man revealed a history of similar offences and subsequent charges.

He was held in custody overnight and was to appear in Nanaimo Provincial Court today.
