District of Clearwater councillors and staff hope to meet with at least four provincial cabinet ministers as well as with the premier during the Union of BC Municipalities convention, which will be held in Whistler in late September.
That was the outcome of a discussion held during a special town council meeting held Tuesday morning in the new council chambers in the former Dutch Lake School.
Main topic of conversation at the UBCM will be what can be done to better help rural British Columbia.
Councillor Shelley Sim was especially interested in improving the quality and reducing the cost of broadband Internet for rural businesses and families.
Ken Kjenstad suggested the District’s delegation also meet with Telus during the UBCM convention.
