Following are the highlights from the March 24, District of 100 Mile House council meeting:
Builder’s heating zone
Council approved Building Bylaw #1281 to reflect the current federal government’s climatic data.
The BC Building Code gives local governments the authority to establish this climatic data. The district’s current building bylaw climatic data is nine years old and inconsistent with that of surrounding municipalities.
The amendment would place 100 Mile House into the same building heating zone as Williams Lake and Quesnel (Zone 6), to provide uniformity for builders throughout the Cariboo.
Financial statements
PMT Accounting Services delivered the annual audited financial statements, which were then approved by council.
PMT partner Keith Greenhalgh formally presented the statements for the 2014 operating year, and reported the District was in a positive financial position.
The District experienced an increase in its cash position over the prior year, and there were no significant issues identified, he noted.
