There have been COVID-19 cases related to air travel to and from Nanaimo, since the beginning of the month, says B.C. Centre for Disease Control.
According to the centre’s list of flights with a case of COVID-19, Air Canada’s flight 2264, from Fort St. John to Nanaimo on April 12 had a case, with affected rows 4-10.
An April 4 Harbour Air flight (1150), destined from Nanaimo to Vancouver, as well as an April 3 flight from Vancouver to Nanaimo (1123), were also listed. Affected rows were not reported for either of those flights.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, chills, coughing, loss of smell or taste and difficulty breathing, according to the centre. Anyone exhibiting symptoms is asked to use the provincial COVID-19 self-assessment tool to determine if they need testing.
Anyone exhibiting symptoms needs to self isolate, the centre said.
