COVID-19 exposure warning issued for Hope’s Slumber Lodge Motel

Anyone who visited the motel Nov. 7, 8 or 9 should monitor for symptoms: Fraser Health

Hope’s Slumber Lodge is currently listed as a site of public exposure to the COVID-19 virus for the dates of Nov. 7 to 9.

Fraser Health has listed the Slumber Lodge Motel at 250 Fort St. as a site of possible public exposure to the coronavirus and anyone who was at the motel on the following dates and times is advised to monitor for symptoms:

Nov. 7: 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Nov. 8: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Nov. 9: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The health authority publishes places and dates of possible exposure on a public website when all those potentially exposed cannot be reached or identified via contact tracing. “If you have been in one of these locations at the times of possible exposure, it does not mean you will develop COVID-19,” Fraser Health stated. “The possible exposures listed on this site are believed to be low risk, but, out of an abundance of caution, public health asks anyone who may have visited any of the locations listen on the specified dates and times to monitor themselves for symptoms.”

Management at the Slumber Lodge told The Hope Standard that staff have been wearing masks and visors as well as using sanitizing spray and cleaning since the beginning of the pandemic in March.

The Slumber Lodge possible exposure is one of nine listed on the website, including an athletic club in Surrey, a car dealership in Langley, as well as restaurants and pubs and a cultural centre in communities from Port Moody to Abbotsford.
