The family and friends of Gladys Barman want to thank those in the Cowichan Valley who helped in the search for her this summer.
Family friend Teri Young, who employed Barman’s son Neil, said a “thank you” event will be held on Sept. 29 at the Affinity Guesthouse, located at 5155 Samuel Rd. in Cowichan Bay, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
She said a celebration of life was held for the Oak Bay woman, whose body was found near Lake Cowichan on Aug. 1, in Victoria last week, and Young said Barman’s relatives and friends wanted to hold another event to recognize the many people in the Valley who helped look for her.
