Keremeos firefighters responded to a structure fire in Cawston in the early morning hours on Wednesday.
After arriving at the scene after the report at 4:22 a.m., firefighters discovered a craft and hobby shed at Coulthard and Wooden Road was completely engulfed in flames, according to fire chief Jordy Bosscha.
“Unfortunately, the shop was completely destroyed,” said Bosscha, adding that while the fire was knocked down before it spread, nearby houses sustained some fire damage.
In total, nine Keremeos firefighters, two fire trucks and a utility vehicle responded to the fire, which took about four hours to extinguish. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
