CRD offers water tours

Capital Regional District is offering its 24th annual public tours of the Greater Victoria Water Supply Area

The Capital Regional District is offering its 24th annual public tours of the Greater Victoria Water Supply Area.

New this year are two options for the tours. The first is an extensive 5.5 hour tour travelling though Sooke and Goldstream supply areas. Tour go-ers will stop at the Sooke Lake Reservoir, Ritchet Creek, Goldstream Lake Reservoir and go on a forest walk. They will also get to tour the ultraviolet disinfection facility. The tours leave at 9:30 a.m. and finish at 3 p.m.

Another option is a shorter three-hour tour focussing on facilities at both Sooke and Goldstream Lake reservoirs and the disinfection facility. This tour leaves at 9:15 a.m. and finished at 1 p.m.

Tours run from Monday, May 6 to Saturday, May 11 at leave from the main parking lot at Thetis Lake Regional Park. The tours are not recommended for children under 12.
