Creston RCMP responded to 57 calls for service from March 5-11, Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan said on March 12.
March 9
•A battery was stolen from a tractor on Highway 3.
•When a requested well-being check on a Cook Street resident found no one at home, police put out a bulletin and the female was located in Golden. She was OK.
•Four intoxicated people were reported to be hanging out around the gazebo behind Millennium Park. Upon investigation, police arrested two extremely intoxicated males, one of whom had a court order not be in contact with one of the partiers. He faces further charges. Both men spent the night in police cells.
•Police were called to a dispute over property between an estranged couple on Highway 3.
•An investigation of a complaint that a male was driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle on West Creston Road revealed the vehicle bore a plate that had previously been reported as lost. The male was not in the vehicle when he was found, so police were unable to lay charges. The vehicle was towed.
•The source of a 911 call routed through a Topaz Creek cellphone tower could not be identified.
•A child playing with a cellphone was blamed for a 911 call from a 33rd Avenue South residence.
•Police are trying to sort out an ownership dispute involving a person who turned in a found bicycle to police last year, then took possession after it wasn’t claimed. A person claiming to be the legitimate owner has now entered the picture.
