Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen (NDP) has decided not to leave federal politics to run for leader of the BC NDP.

Cullen was considering the move to provincial politics after being overwhelmed by supporters urging him to try for BC NDP leadership.

However, in a press release last week, Cullen cited commitment to his federal constituents and his two new young twin sons as reasons for staying federal.

Cullen has been involved in some key federal initiatives, like the motion to ban oil tankers from BC coastal waters as well as the recent bill to restrict the use of toxic chemicals in children’s toys.
