Greater Vernon’s cultural vision continues to evolve.
Members of the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee met Thursday to conduct further work on the proposed cultural plan.
“We had an update from the consultants on public input and the steering committee workshop,” said Juliette Cunningham, GVAC chairperson.
“Some themes have come out and they’re trying to flush out those themes.”
One of the items of discussion revolves around the responsibility of cultural agencies.
“It’s not just government’s role to fund and provide all of these services,” said Cunningham.
“The process will identify how other stakeholders participate and it could reach out to the private sector. There’s a real opportunity for partnerships and the possibility of agencies sharing resources.”
The plan is expected to be adopted by November.
