Cultus Lake residents advised to run tap water until it runs clear

Broken watermain to blame but it was being repaired by afternoon, according to FVRD and park board

Cultus Lake residents were advised not to drink their tap water on Wednesday morning but the problem was fixed by late afternoon.

A watermain break was the cause.

Cultus Lake Park Board put out a notification online from FVRD and Cultus Lake Park:

“Due to a major watermain break on Lakeshore Drive, the water in Cultus Lake will be off until further notice,” it read.

“Please refrain from drinking the tap water at this time.”

At about 4 p.m. the information was updated, saying the watermain had been repaired.

“Crews have repaired the broken watermain and the east side watermain has been flushed and is operating accordingly.

“Crews are currently flushing the lines on the west side of the lake and they should be operating accordingly shortly. Please run your tap water until it looks clear prior to drinking. Thank you for your patience.”
