A cyclist riding the Trans Canada Trail has been rescued south of Fernie over the weekend.
At 4 p.m. Saturday, Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked to respond to a SPOT activation in the Wigwam, near Elko, where three cyclists were riding the cross-Canada trail.
According to a Facebook post by SAR, one of the cyclists suffered a laceration to his calf while climbing over a downed tree.
Two SAR members flew by helicopter to locate the trio and assess the situation.
The man was flown back to Fernie and handed over to BC Ambulance.
