A head-on collision in the 8100-block of King George Boulevard claimed the lives of the drivers of both vehicles.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 Sunday morning, and shut down King George Boulevard between 80 and 82 Avenues so the Surrey RCMP Criminal Crash Investigation Team and Lower Mainland District Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Services could conduct an investigation.
There were no passengers in the vehicles, reportedly a Kia Soul and a pick-up truck.
RCMP said alcohol, drugs and distracted driving are being considered as possible causes. Several witnesses have been interviewed, but police are seeking more information.
Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca. Callers are asked to quote file number 2016-161598.
