UPDATE November 13
A $1000 reward is available for any information leading to the conviction of whomever shot a mule deer doe in the head with a crossbow in Fernie, discovered by the B.C. Conservation Officer Service on November 8.
The first $500 was offered by the Fernie Rod and Gun Club on November 10.
“The Fernie Rod and Gun Club’s members and residents of the Elk Valley find this Malicious act inexcusable,” read the post on their Facebook page.
“As a deterrent and in the hope of someone stepping forward if they have information, the FRGC will offer a $500 reward for that information.”
This was later matched by Mr. Ian Benson on November 13, who offered an additional $500 reward.
Those with information can remain anonymous by contacting the B.C. Conservation Officer Service in Fernie, or the RCMP.
