Parksville city council has issued a development permit to facilitate a four-storey apartment building on Dogwood Street.
The city received an application from Shawn Vincent of Simba Investments Ltd. for a development permit to build at 253, 259, 263 and 273 Dogwood St.
The proposed 63-unit, four–storey apartment building consists of 29 one-bedroom units and 34 two-bedroom units.
Required parking is provided on-site with 68 stalls, including two for persons with disability. Also, a bicycle storage room that accommodates 32 bicycles and an outdoor rack for six more bicycles has been incorporated into the proposal.
Energy and water conservation measures and sustainability concepts have been proposed that include the apartment be constructed to BC Built Green building standards and practices, alternative transportation modes through bicycle storage, on-site composting and recycle program, installation of low-flush toilets and oil interceptors in the parking lot.
