The weekly (Friday) Discovery House gourmet soup lunches are available only for pick up or delivery

Safe, sanitary and tastes good too.

That’s the recipe for the Discovery House men’s recovery centre’s Soup is Good Food Fundraiser.

Now, during the current need for social distancing in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, the weekly Friday lunch of homemade, gourmet soups, a fresh COBS Bread Bakery bun and McDonald’s coffee or tea, is available only for pick up or delivery.

It’s recommended that people order by telephone (Jerome at 250-462-1388) as soon as possible for pickup at St. John Vianney Hall at 361 Wade Ave. W. or by delivery for the next Friday.

The soup for the soul program runs every Friday starting at noon until the final day, April 3.

The lunch costs just $6 and delivery is available for orders over $30 with an extra soup thrown in.

Proceeds go to the essential, addiction recovery program that is funded by donation and provided at the two houses operated by Discovery in Penticton.

The soup is prepared in a sanitary environment and all of those doing the preparation have Food Safe training.

Lunches can be picked up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the hall.

People can also donate through Canadahelps and for the donation a soup will be provided to the needy through the local Outreach program.
